Rockport, TX Fly Fishing

Vast and Diverse Fishery

Thank you for visiting Dodson Fly Fishing- your independent Rockport, TX, fly fishing guide service. Captain Matt Dodson operates in the Rockport/Corpus Christi area known in Texas as “The Coastal Bend”. The flats here are vast and diverse. You’ll encounter mangroves, white sand and turtle grass like you might find in Florida, as well as vibrant marsh with mud and oyster bars similar to the Mississippi Delta. This allows anglers opportunities to have successful fishing year round. With several boat ramps within easy drive and plenty of islands and shorelines to offer protection from wind, Capt. Matt can usually find favorable conditions to fish no matter what the Texas Coast weather decides to bring us.

Experienced Guide

Matt has been fly fishing since the age of seven and constantly developing his own skills as an angler. Guiding and instructing fly fishermen has been his focal point since 2004 and has grown into an incredibly rewarding career. Having guided on some of the most famous waters in the western hemisphere, his style and demeanor as an instructor is as well-rounded, finely-tuned, while still growing and developing. He has guided countless novice fishermen, tournament-winning anglers, and every experience level in-between. Needless to say, you’re in good hands on your next fly fishing trip to the Texas Coast.
